Flying Tiger Airlines on March 21, 2017 at 6:37 PM said:

How many of you flew to and/or from Vietnam on Flying Tiger Airlines? I know I did - McChord Air Force Base (Ft. Lewis) to Anchorage, to Japan, to Cam Ranh Bay. Same route home the first time.

Tonight I had a delightful conversation with Andee Reingold Wright, a flight attendant who flew these flights on Flying Tiger from 1967 throughout the war including a flight of refugees in 1975.

Aloha from Hawaii! A salute to all my fellow AVEL brothers on this Veteran's Day. Proud to have served with a great bunch of guys, I am glad to be part of this great brotherhood that we have.
Thanks to Jack, Jerry and Russ for all the hard work that they do with the reunions. I don't think they get enough credit for all the planning and preparations that must be done every year.
Take care and stay safe.

I have been meaning to put something out about the Reunion sooner but have had a myriad of things going on. First of all it was a great Reunion and there was so much to do in Chicago. For all that were put off by the fact that it was in Chicago the Hotel was in Rosemont a really nice area and the surrounding areas of Park Ridge, Edison Park and Arlington Heights were very upscale. The L Train into Downtown was just steps away from the Hotel and it only cost $2.00. The free cruise on the Wendella that went down the Chicago River was incredible and the highlight of the whole Reunion was the Guest Speaker Major General James Mukoyama. Great speaker and great Soldier. He served under Colonel David Hackworth as an Infantry Company Commander in Vietnam. Jack McCabe put a lot of work into this Reunion and it is a shame we didn't have a better turn out.
